Sainsmart UNO R3 - Fully Compatible With the Latest Arduino UNO R3

Sainsmart Arduino UNO R3

Why buy the Sainsmart Arduino UNO R3? There are many Arduino clones as well as the genuine Arduino development boards, so why buy this one?

  • Genuine Arduino boards are expensive and some cheap clones are very poor quality.

  • Arduino is an 'Open Source' hardware project which means that the designs are available for anyone to use and copy legally - but the spirit of Open Source is not just to copy but to innovate, and that is exactly what Sainsmart have done with their UNO R3 boards.

Fully compatible with the Arduino UNO R3 boards, but has additional killer features:

  • Switchable to operate at 3.3V or the usual Arduino 5V. This is important if you want to use 3.3V sensors or devices, now or in the future. More and more modern sensors and devices are now using 3.3V such as GPS, Bluetooth, GPRS, RF, etc

Connecting a 3.3V devices directly to a 5V Arduino will damage the device.

  • Additional GND, VOLTAGE and SIGNAL connector for EACH pin! See picture. If you have ever experimented with the original Arduino you will know why this is important!

  • Has 2 additional Analog input pins (A6/A7) bringing the total up to 8!

Detailed description of the Sainsmart UNO R3:

The Sainsmart Arduino UNO R3 board also has all the new features of the Arduino UNO R3 such as the ATMega16U2 USB interface chip which, besides allowing you to load your code (called sketches) onto the board with blistering speed, also allows the board to appear to your PC as keyboard, mouse or similar device.

Programming the SainSmart Arduino UNO R3 board is easy, there are hundreds of tutorials and thousands of examples online. YouTube is also an excellent source of information and inspiration.

Sainsmart Arduino UNO R3 is powered by the same USB connection from your PC that you use to program it (USB cable included).  Once your Arduino is programmed you can use as a standalone project disconnected from the PC by powering it from batteries or a power adaptor. (power supply and battery connector not included in this listing but battery connectors are included in our kits)

The Arduino open-source programming tools can be downloaded free from the Arduino web site (www.arduino.cc) and is available for Window, Mac OS X and Linux.

The Windows driver comes with the programming tools. Mac and Linux do not require a driver.

Advanced users can use the 'C' development tools to program this board directly (bypassing the Arduino IDE completely) using the ICSP interface. The 'C' development environment, called AVR Studio, is available as a free download directly from Atmel (www.atmel.com).

Package includes:

1 x Sainsmart Arduino UNO R3 board.

1 x 0.5m USB cable.
